Accommodation & Transport on tours
Kruger National Park:
Both the camping and bedded accommodation tours stay at one of the most beautiful safari lodges in the area, which is only 10 minutes from Kruger National Park. This beautiful 3 star safari lodge has a large variety of wildlife including nyala, zebra, giraffe, blue wildebeest, impala, warthog and much more, which are often seen around the camp and chalets. There is a large swimming pool where clients can cool off at the end of the day after game drives, as well as a lovely bar by the pool where you can relax. Three course dinners will be prepared by the lodge's chef, and enjoyed in the restaurant by the pool.
Chobe National Park & Victoria Falls
The included accommodation is camping. However, all the camps and lodges where we stay do have a variety of bedded accommodation. You can upgrade to bedded accommodation on arrival at the camps / lodges (not before). Livingstone Trails will pay the camping rate, and you pay the balance of the bedded accommodation that you would like to upgrade to. We stay at Elephant Sands, Kasane, Victoria Falls and Khama Rhino Santuary.
The tents that we use, are 2.1 x 2.1 meters canvas dome tents, with built in floor and mosquito nets over the doors and windows. All doors, windows and mosquito nets close with zips to keep all insects out. Livingstone Trails provide proper sleeping mattresses.
Camping clients will need a sleeping bag, which you can rent at R60 per person (once off) from Livingstone Trails, if you do not have a sleeping bag of your own. All clients must have their own towels.
Hartbeespoort:
We stay at Moonlight Backpackers Lodge, which is a 50 hectares game farm in the valley below the Magaliesberg Mountains close to Hartbeespoort dam. Here they have exotic animals, such as sable antelope, nyala and the very rare golden wildebeest, black impala and hartswater springbuck. There are also other animals such as duiker, steenbuck, jackal, kudu, fellow deer and bushbuck. All these animals can be seen from the various view points at the waterholes all around the lodge.
All clients (including camping clients) stay in bedded accommodation with en-suite bathrooms.
Dinner is at own cost. Your guide will stop at a supermarket where you can buy your dinner, or you can eat out at one of the many restaurants in the area. There is a well equipped communal kitchen where you can prepare your dinner, if you prefer that.
Bedded accommodation - Kruger National Park tours Bedded accommodation clients on our Kruger national park tours will stay in semi-luxury walk in safari tents with en-suite bathroom. These tents are permanently erected on wooden platforms and has a brick en-suite bathroom. Each tent has two single beds with bedding provided, a fan and a small fridge. There are fitted mosquito nets in front of the door and windows, which close with zips. The canvas door also close with a zip, to keep all unwanted animals and creatures outside. At the front of each tent there is a small deck or platform where you can sit and relax at the end of the day.
