We created this packing list to assist fellow travellers with getting organised before they start their journey. The list ist definitely not exhaustive, but we tried our best...
The list contains four categories - "The Important Stuff", "Clothes", "Bags & Accessories", "MediKit"
The Important Stuff
- ATM Card (Maestro and Cirrus are widely spread)
- Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard)
- enough Travellers' Checks (just in case you have problems with your plastic money)
- Passport (double-check validity)
- Tickets
- Visa
- Photocopies of all important documents (keep them separated from the original docs)
- Paper/Notebook (just something to write on)
- Pen(s)
- Address list and important contacts
- Organizer/Diary
- Cellphone (just in case)
... and don't forget the recharger
Bags & Accessories
- Backpack (big enough, but not too big)
- Small bag (e.g a daypack - for daytrips, shopping, beach)
- Sleeping bag
- Inlay for your sleeping bag
- Money belt (probably the safest option to carry your documents and money around - as long as the doggy people don't know about it...)
- Mozzie net (depending on where you are going... ways better than itchy mozzie bites and Malaria)
- Alarm clock (just in case you need to get up early)
Clothes
- Shoes/hiking boots (depending on what you want to do while on the road)
- Sandals/thongs (or flip-flops)
- Underwear
- Socks
- Warm jacket
- Light jacket
- Jeans
- Trousers or pants
- Sweater
- Jumper
- Swimming gear
- Towels (a big and a small one)
- T-shirts
- Sarong
- Skirt
MediKit
- Bandage & plaster
- Small scissor
- Tweezers
- Thermometer
- Antiseptic
- Antinausea
- Antihistamine
- Antidiarrhoea
- Painkillers
- Cold & flu tablets
- Rehydration tablets/mixtures
- Insect repellent and anti-itch cream
- Sunscreen
