communication

The easiest way of calling home when travelling is using skype. Skype is a software application that allows users to make voice calls over the Internet. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a nominal fee using a debit-based user account system.

In July 2010 SKYPE (click on logo above, scroll down, offer on your left hand side!) is offering free or cheap calls to landline telephones in all countries participating in the World Cup soccer tournament. In all, 120 free minutes are available for calls to landline numbers in South Africa. To qualify, one must first register with Skype on the internet and, among other things, provide your credit card details or work through PayPal (www.paypal.com).

· With Skype you can make free calls over the Internet. Skype – the world can talk for free
· Buy Skype Credit now to make cheap calls internationally
