Depart from Underberg and travel through the Ukahlamba World Heritage site, along the banks of the Umkomazana River to the South African border post, before travelling up the hairpin bends, climbing to 2874 m before crossing into Lesotho.
Travel through to Skierring to visit a home of the hardy mountain people, sample the local beer and bread.
Once back at Sani Top Chalet, check in to your preferred accommodation, on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Before breakfast, meet out on the deck for sunrise and coffee, marvel at the spectacle of the sunrise from way below the deck.
The alternative is to hike out along the Twelve Apostles, a five-hour return trip, or for a more exhilarating experience, hike to Hodgsons Peak North, or the more challenging Hodgsons Peak South. Allow five and a half hours.
After lunch, the tour will return down Sani Pass to end back in Underberg.
