Tour Details:
Stellenbosch
With 17 000 students, over 80 restaurants and pubs and based in the center of the wine producing area, the recipe is fun, beauty and adventure. A great nightlife (all within walking distance) and a youthful atmosphere ensure that a backpackers visit to SA's second oldest town will be remembered. Only a short distance from Cape Town, Stellenbosch is the ideal place to recover from big city blues and perfect for that stopover before arriving in Cape Town.
The fantastic, affordable wines that are produced all around Stellenbosch and the myriad of ways available to explore this scenic mountain region, ensure that your backpack will carry away at least one bottle for later consumption. Take a bicycle and cycle around, use your hired car to its best potential or take an organised tour. Walking is also an option for the more energetic. Fantastic hiking abounds in the mountains around Stellenbosch with some classic routes. The downhill mountain bike trails are a dream for adrenaline junkies. Trout fishing is good in the numerous dams and horse riding is available from numerous professional operators. Historical and cultural attractions also abound. These include museums, architecture, galleries, amphi- theatres, cinemas and live music.

Easy Rider Wine Tours
Started in 1994 this Winelands based tour company really knows their stuff. Their specialist day tours take in four different producers - giving you a varied range of wines to taste and compare. The tour covers the entire scenic mountain region, taking in Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. Learn about the winemaking process while on the cellar tour, after which the registered tour guides will give you pointers in the art of tasting. Enjoy a fantastic restaurant lunch and sample a range of tasty cow and goat's milk cheeses while savouring another classy vintage. Tours depart around 10:30am and return after 5pm. No time is spent travelling to or from Cape Town, as you are based in the winelands.

Tonight you can savour fresh seafood at one of the many great restaurants and go clubbing a little later. It's your choice. Overnight in Cape Town

Day 3
A full day of Sandboarding which is the art of standing with two feet locked onto a board and carving arks down a dune. The beauty of it is that you can control the board & speed by turning, stopping and jumping with easy control of the board. For racing down the dunes we use snowboards with a specialised base. The base is a lamination, which becomes even more slippery the more you ride it. The bindings and boots are exactly the same as for Snowboarding. Using specially designed boards, the expert guides will have you flying down the dunes in no time. The best part about Sandboarding is that it is easy to learn and accessible to the absolute beginner - so fear not, Adrenaline is just a slide away! It is also the best way to learn the fundamentals of Snowboarding as the basic principles are the same. Our expert boarders will show you just how easy it is!
A short drive leads to the Lost City of Atlantis where the most spectacular dune environments exist in Cape Town. Whether you are a beginner or have snowboarded before, safety, fun and excitement is guaranteed.

Day 4
Now we slow the pace down a little and we head on a full days Wine Tour to four uniquely different winefarms in Stellenbosch, Paarl & Franschhoek , where you will get to taste red & white wines, lunch is included and local cheese is also available to taste and buy. Later enjoy a traditional braai (BBQ) and / or a pub crawl of this student town. Overnight in Stellenbosch.

Glide across sparkling water while marvelling at the majestic sea cliffs and sea life. This is your chance to do some whale and dolphin watching real close up!Overnight in Hermanus

Day 6
Great White Shark Cage Diving, if this doesn't cause a rush, then you must be alien to earth . Dyer Island is a bird sanctuary and a breeding site for the Jackass penguin. Adjoining it is a second smaller rocky island called Geyser rock which supports a large seal population. Separating Geyser and Dyer is a channel aptly named "Shark Alley", argueably the prime spot in the world for encountering the Great White shark. Take turns in the cage which floats right next to the boat and provides great surface viewing opportunities. Lunch is served on board and we head back to Cape Town in the late afternoon.

Please understand that adrenalin activities usually take place in pretty wild settings and thus the weather and many forces, which unfortunatly are out of our control, might not play along on certain days... BUT we will do everything in our power to accomodate you and make sure things run smoothly!!
